Hello. I'm Donetta. This is my story.

When I was young I was always very thin and never had to worry about nutrition. I was active and my metabolism was awesome so there were no worries for a long time. Enter children ....

I had two kids and gained 40 pounds with both pregnancies. After that I could never lose all the weight. I tried SO HARD to eat right and exercise and get that weight off but it just wouldn’t happen.

After my second child was born, I met with my doctor to discuss this problem with him. Rather than actually help with ideas or solutions, he handed me Slim Fast coupons.  I was livid. How is that helpful? I never went back to that doctor. So for years I struggled with my weight.

Personally, I’ve never been into trying fad diets but I followed the mantra that's been shoved down our throats for decades -- the good ol' "calories in versus calories out" mantra. I obsessed over limiting my calories and exercising as much as possible. None of it worked. 

No matter how much I tried, I could never successfully lose weight and keep it off. There were days when I just cried and tried to just accept the fact I'd be overweight the rest of my life.

But then keto changed my life!

When James first told me we should give keto a try I said no. I thought it was just another fad diet and didn’t want to do that. He convinced me though and I’m SO thankful he did! I lost about 25 pounds in the first 4 months and knew there was something to this.

Today I’m about 40 pounds lighter and in the best health ever! I feel great, my bloodwork is great, I’m active and extremely happy.

 

The important thing to know is it’s not a “diet” -  it is a lifestyle change. This isn’t something you do for a while and then go back to “normal” because that is what got us here in the first place.
